Social Anxiety

Anxiety and stress are two common and often interrelated experiences that many individuals face in their daily lives.

Anxiety refers to feelings of fear, apprehension, or unease, while stress is the body’s response to a perceived threat or demand. Both anxiety and stress can have significant impacts on one’s mental and physical well-being, making it important to understand their causes, symptoms, and potential coping mechanisms.

There are various factors that can contribute to the development of anxiety and stress. These can include genetic predispositions, environmental influences, traumatic experiences, or ongoing life challenges.

Social Anxiety

It is important to note that everyone experiences anxiety and stress differently, and what may cause anxiety in one person may not have the same effect on another.

Types of anxiety that young people and adults might be experiencing are:

  • Generalised Anxiety Disorder
  • Social Anxiety Disorder
  • OCD
  • PTSD
  • Panic Disorder

Symptoms of anxiety and stress can manifest both mentally and physically. Mentally, individuals may experience excessive worry, irritability, difficulty concentrating, or restlessness. Physically, symptoms may include increased heart rate, headaches, muscle tension, or stomach discomfort.

There are several strategies that can help manage and reduce anxiety and stress. I use solution focused approaches such as NLP, TFT and Hypnotherapy to help change thinking patterns, behaviours and to establish positive changes to enable you to live a brighter and happier future.
